Dear Book Lovers,

Today Carol Green, my teaching buddy, joins the review team with a fun book for preschoolers.

Nancy

Are Tigers Ticklish? was written and illustrated by Debby Anderson. This board book for children ages 1 to 5 shows how God had great fun making the animals all different shapes and sizes. Its colorful illustrations add whimsy and bring life to each page. Its easy flow and rhyming words, whether describing worms or chicks, is a plus for even the wiggliest listeners.

Are Tigers Ticklish? presents a range of animals (from those who live in the snow to those in the sea) in an orderly manner and with great humor. My favorite part of the book is its truthful answers to questions. For example it truthfully answers that no one knows where God got His ideas for frogs or butterflies, but God knows everything.

This gem of a book teaches children to identify animals, count, name colors and discover more about God. The ending question, “Are you ticklish?” is just what this sometimes tired and troubled world needs: a smile.

Check out Debby Anderson’s other books such as I Can Talk With God.
